Many courses, in fact most public courses, open in the winter. We close from roughly December to March. Why? So the course is not incuring damage while dormant and unable to recover. When the course opens in the early spring, our bluegrass fairways and our bentgrass greens are in great shape and they stay that way all year. The result?
